Provides confidential dispute resolution services. Can not assist with custody or family law issues. Types of mediation available include:
-Business/consumer mediation: disputes involving service agreements, damage, repairs, refunds, warranty issues, replacements, salesperson complaints, billing, withheld payments, noise, and parking issues
-Elder mediation: disputes involving neighborhood problems, manufactured dwelling park issues, public housing and landlord/tenant issues, property matters, consumer problems, concerns about living arrangements, home care, and family or business finances
-Homeowners Association mediation: disputes involving association rules and regulations, neighbor relations, construction defects, maintenance, common areas, and fees and assessments
-Landlord/tenant mediation: disputes involving late payment of rent, evictions, deposits, repairs, damage, rental agreement violations, pets, noise, and neighbor relations
-Manufactured dwelling park mediation: disputes involving park rules and regulations, environmental issues, rental agreements, home sales, rent payment issues, evictions, pets, and neighbor relations

Community Mediation Services (CMS) provides mediation services for parenting plans, neighbor-to-neighbor, landlord-tenant, divorce, elder care, small claims, and foreclosure cases. Also provides dispute resolution services, training, and meeting facilitation in the workplace.

Program offers affordable parenting plan mediation sessions for parents who are going through divorce or dissolution, or wish to create or update a formal parenting plan.

Trained mediators assist in finding solutions to conflicts. Mediators have experience with interpersonal disputes, family mediation (e.g., parent/teen, runaways), parenting plan adjustments, neighborhood disputes (e.g., barking dogs, property line/easement disputes), landlord/tenant disputes, institutional/business mediation, and victim/offender mediation. Also holds workshops, public lectures, and discussions on mediation and coaches individuals in conflicted situations. Meetings may be held in the client's community to ease time or transportation limitations. Does not mediate domestic violence cases.

Community mediation helps individuals, businesses, neighbors, and families when conflict or disagreements arise. Mediators help parties communicate with understanding, explore solutions, and solve problems. Some conflicts involve neighbor or neighborhood relationships, homeowner association issues, workplace problems, consumer/business disputes, family relationships including separation/divorce or children's issues, money issues, landlord/tenant disputes, land use disputes, and more. Mediation is voluntary, cooperative, and confidential and mediated by one or two impartial mediators who do not take sides, give legal advice, or impose settlements.

Provides mediators for Deschutes County Justice Court Small Claims Court. Litigants have the opportunity to resolve disputes through mediation before proceeding to trial before a judge. Provides periodic mediator training, workshops, and facilitation services for businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Provides mediation, facilitation, and other collaborative processes to resolve disagreements between parents and schools regarding children's educational programs and support services. Also, faclites a variety of technical assistance services including training, data analysis, systems improvement, and resource development.

Helps community members resolve differences in a positive and personal way outside of the legal system. The program offers confidential and effective mediation services for families and youth, peer mediation training for youth in PPS schools and any other conflicts within Multnomah County. Includes a specific mediation program for landlords and tenants experiencing conflicts such as rent increases, rent past due, housing discrimination, noise, and accommodation needs that could otherwise lead to eviction.

Provides a variety of mediation and facilitation services including free landlord/tenant mediation and conflict coaching, community mediation, workplace interventions, and small claims and eviction mediation through Jackson County Circuit Court.
