DOWNTOWN LANGUAGES

PLAZA COMUNITARIA
The Plaza Comunitaria (Plaza) is an education program that enables Spanish-speaking adults to complete their education in a learning center. Students are able to gain Spanish literacy skills, complete their primary and secondary education certificates, learn English, prepare for the GED, and improve computer literacy skills. The Plaza operates at Wilkes, Hall, East Gresham, Highland, Clear Creek, Ron Russell, and Floyd Light SUN schools, as well as the El Programa Hispano office.

LITERACY COUNCIL FOR JOSEPHINE COUNTY
ADULT BASIC EDUCATION
Provides one-on-one tutoring. Students learn to read, write, learn English as a second language, improve basic math skills, and prepare for the citizenship test. Assists to improve job skills, pass the written driver's exam, fill out job applications and other forms, read medicine labels and signs, and learn to use a computer in an educational capacity. Offers a specialized dyslexia program designed to help those suffering from the learning disability dyslexia learn to read, write and spell. Also helps students qualify for enrollment at RCC and assists them in preparing for their GED in language arts, social studies, math, and science.
