RENT WELL RENTER EDUCATION
Rent Well is a 15-hour class typically delivered over 6 weeks that covers key information for being a responsible and stable tenant. Participants explore screening barriers they may have and take steps to address those barriers.

Upon completion, participants receive a certificate that can be presented to landlords when applying for housing. Certificates are valid for 18 months and list the graduation date as well as the expiration date. Each time an individual graduates from Rent Well, they receive a new certificate valid for 18 months. Certificates can be used anywhere in Oregon.

Landlords are eligible to register for the Rent Well Landlord Guarantee, which may cover damages, unpaid rent, or eviction costs if a Rent Well tenant vacates the unit, not in good standing, within 12 months of the move-in date. Amount of guarantee varies depending on the county in which the graduate completed Rent Well, as well as funding availability. The Rent Well Landlord Guarantee cannot pay rent or fees to keep the tenant in housing.
