Provides limited, one-time rental payment assistance determined on a case-by-case basis. If found eligible, assistance may be limited to the last $200-$300 in order to serve as many people as possible. No help is given for rent in a future month or for deposits, fees, or other amounts to move into a new residence. No rent assistance given to persons renting from a family member, relative, or friend. DOES NOT offer motel stays or vouchers. Assistance is dependent on available funding and is NOT guaranteed
Eligibility: Low-income households. Need must be deemed an emergency by SVDP, meaning help is provided only when eviction appears imminent. Rent must be past due before an appointment will be made. May be asked to provide proof of ability to pay remaining portion of rent before receiving any assistance. Must not have received financial assistance from SVDP in the past 12-14 months.

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Call for appointment. Access to building is by appointment only. Appointments are limited, and not all callers will get through. An interview or appointment does not guarantee assistance. Application voicemails or emails to other SVDP contacts will not be returned. SVDP will verify tenancy, lease amounts, and other information directly with the landlord or property owner before providing aid.
