The Water Resources Education Center provides information and activities to help educate the community on being better stewards of water resources including interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, aquaria swimming with fish, toddler friendly play place, environmental artwork, natural gardens, wildlife friendly wetlands, plus special events for children, education opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.

Operates outdoor school and other environmental education services. Sends 6th-grade students to outdoor school and involves high school students as student leaders.

Staff and volunteers lead nature walks, host school programs, sponsor special events, teach both in-person and virtual youth programs, and work on environmental restoration projects, primarily in the Whilamut Natural Area of Alton Baker Park. Nearby Nature also maintains an educational Learnscape Garden and is a partner in the Network Charter School.

Offers environmental education for all ages through trips, classes, camps, mentorship, school programs, and Outdoor School For All.
