FAMILY RELIEF NURSERY
Relief Nurseries serve families with young children who are at risk of abuse and neglect. They provide high-risk families with intensive support through individualized case management.

Relief nurseries provide parenting education, support through home visits, and group activities. Children participate in therapeutic classrooms with low adult-child ratios, and families receive home visits that promote healthy parenting and child development. Many provide mental health care, counseling for domestic violence and support for adults recovering from addiction. The Family Relief Nursery offers respite care on Fridays with priority given to clients on the waitlist.

Eligibility: High risk families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Intakes are completed to determine eligibility.

High risk typically means experiencing several of the following factors: poverty, high stress, depression, history of mental illness, lack of reliable transportation, single parent, criminal history, adult survivor of child abuse, drug and alcohol history, unemployment, low self-esteem, limited education, anger issues, homelessness or social isolation.
Hours: Therapeutic Early Childhood Program: Monday-Thursday 9:30am-12:30pm
Parent Education Classes: offered quarterly one afternoon a week
Respite Care: Monday and Wednesday afternoon for home based and waitlisted families
