Citywide large-scale emergency management planning and coordination. Specific program and administrative functions cover four aspects of managing large-scale emergencies: community preparedness, disaster mitigation, response, and recovery.

Does not assist with small-scale emergencies such as home fires, personal emergencies, etc.

Provides information about current wildfires and air quality in the state of Oregon and a resource directory for wildfire preparation, response, and recovery. Includes evacuation information and a sign-up for emergency alerts through OR-Alert.

Coordinates emergency management activities and maintains a statewide emergency services system for emergency and disaster communications. Serves as the central agency for receiving reports of emergency incidents and for disseminating emergency-related information. OEM is made up of four sections including the Director’s Office, State 9-1-1 Program, Operations and Preparedness, and Mitigation and Recovery Services.

Offers information on winter weather including avoiding frostbite, hypothermia, food safety, preventing carbon monoxide poisoning, and cold weather health and safety tips.

Coordinates and facilitates emergency management activities for the Cities of Cathlamet, Skamokawa, Grays River, Rosburg, and Naselle, and for all unincorporated areas of Wahkiakum County. Also works with the Washington State Emergency Management Division (EMD) and the State of Homeland Security Region 4, which includes Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties.
