Custody and Parenting Time Mediations: Mediation is a confidential process in which parents meet with a professional, court-approved mediator to develop a parenting plan that is in the best interests of the children. The parenting plan includes decision-making (custody); parenting time schedules (including routine parenting time, holiday, and vacation); parental rights and responsibilities; and parental guidelines. Parents must first attend Focus on Children prior to participating in mediation.
Family Check-Up (FCU): A brief, parent-centered, strength-based program. FCU consists of three appointments which include meeting with staff to share family information; working on tasks with the child in a video-recorded session; and participating in a feedback session.
Supervised Parenting Time: Offers parents an opportunity for safe and meaningful contact with their children.
Custody Evaluations: Evaluators meet three times with each parent, once with the children, and other contacts as necessary. Evaluators will prepare custody and parenting time reports and recommendation.

The Oregon Child Support Program has mediators throughout Oregon who are able to offer assistance developing parenting plans. A parenting plan is a written agreement between parents. It defines when a child will be with each parent (parenting time) and how decisions about the child will be made. It is used when parents are not living together. Sometimes parents agree about these issues and write their own plans, while others use the help of a mediator or attorney. A parenting plan may also be ordered by a judge after a trial or hearing. Safety Focused Parenting Plans are also available.
