MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Migrant Education Program (MEP) Region 28 serves the 32 school districts in Lane and Douglas Counties to identify and support students and families who move frequently in order to obtain work in agriculture or forestry. The goal of the program is to help migrant students overcome challenges that result from repeated moves and interrupted education.

Services include free 24-hour accident injury insurance, summer school, free lunch, parent involvement support, referrals to community resources, college and career transition support, kindergarten readiness support, Pilas! Family Literacy Program with Downtown Languages, Explorer's Camp with the US Forest Service, Oregon State Leadership Institute at OSU, and emergency food boxes.

Eligibility: Youth ages 0-22 who have moved within the past 36 months so that they or their parent/guardian could seek work in agriculture, fisheries, or forestry and who have not yet graduated from high school. Student does not have to be currently enrolled in school to be eligible for the program.
