GRESHAM SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND CHILD WELFARE OFFICE
MULTNOMAH COUNTY FOSTER CARE RESPITE LINE
If a foster family needs respite care, they can call and they will do their best to provide a few names/numbers for people that can be contacted who may be a good match for their child(ren). It is up to the resource (foster) family to interview the potential respite person to determine if it is a good match. DHS does not endorse them nor do they pay for the care. Any fees are negotiated between the resource (foster) parent and the respite provider.

It is a connection service and is not a good option for someone who needs respite care urgently. We have people on the list who have passed a background check and have attended a brief orientation to get them enrolled into our volunteer program. They do not go through any kind of licensing process.
