SMOKE ALARMS FOR DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING INDIVIDUALS
Provides smoke alarms that flash, shake, and wake for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. These specialized alarms work with standard smoke alarm systems to help alert deaf and hard of hearing individuals to the presence of fire or carbon monoxide. Firefighters install the alarms and provide educational material about fire safety.

Eligibility: Individuals who are certified as deaf or hard of hearing by a medical professional (such as a medical doctor or audiologist)

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Visit website and fill out the online application. Additionally, have your medical provider fill out and return the Certification of Eligibility form that can be downloaded from the website.

Call with questions or for help filling out the online application. You will be notified within 10 business days of submitting both the online application and Certification of Eligibility form.
