EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Offers limited financial assistance with rent, electric and water bills, and prescription medications (no narcotics or sleeping medications). The amount of assistance varies depending on the amount due and whether the caller has received assistance in the past. Also provides emergency food boxes.

Eligibility: -Rent assistance: Must have a 72-hour eviction notice and reside within the city limits of Salem.
-Electric assistance: Must have a 5-day shut-off notice or service must already be shut off. Serves PGE and Salem Electric customers only and reside within the city limits of Salem.
-Water assistance: Must have a shut-off notice or service must already be shut off and reside within the city limits of Salem.
-Prescription assistance: Individuals with a gap in health insurance coverage or who are otherwise struggling to pay for medications, and reside within the city limits of Salem.

DOCUMENTS: Photo ID and SNAP/TANF approval documentation (or other proof of income), in addition to the following for specific types of assistance:
-Rent or utility assistance: Eviction or shut-off notice
-Prescription assistance: Current prescription
