EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Offers limited financial assistance with rent, electric and water bills, and prescription medications (no narcotics or sleeping medications). The amount of assistance varies depending on the amount due and whether the caller has received assistance in the past. Also provides emergency food boxes.

Eligibility: -Rent assistance/ utility assistance: Must have a past due notice and reside within the city limits of Salem or have Pacific Power as utility provider and be a US citizen or permanent resident (unless domestic violence/trafficking survivors)
-Prescription assistance: Individuals with a gap in health insurance coverage or who are otherwise struggling to pay for medications, and reside within the city limits of Salem.
-Food box: Unrestricted
Hours: Phone Screening: 24 hours per day / 7 days per week
Food Box pick-up: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

DOCUMENTS: Photo ID and proof of income, in addition to the following for specific types of assistance:
-Rent or utility assistance: Past due, eviction, or shut-off notice
-Prescription assistance: Current prescription
Additional documents may also be needed dependent upon funding sources.
