Provides parenting workshops designed for parents who are separated, divorcing, divorced, or who never married but have children together and who need to develop the knowledge and skills to understand and respond to the special needs their children may have as a result of the divorce/separation. Works to help parents succeed in their ongoing roles as parents despite the fact that they are no longer together.

Topics may include the impact of separation and divorce on families, developmental stages of children and expected reactions to divorce, skills parents can use to minimize stress and help children cope, guidelines for reducing conflict and solving custody issues out of court, recognizing when a child needs special help, and where to find resources. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Eligibility: Families separating, divorcing, or filing for custody changes or other modifications that have children younger than age 17. Parents involved in the criminal justice system must check with their parole or probation officer before attending.
