Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children in a classroom setting and by providing educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services to children and families. Parental engagement is emphasized. Services for parents include goal setting and support, parenting classes and opportunities for parents to network.

Head Start is also offered at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility through a partnership with the Oregon Department of Corrections. Teachers help incarcerated mothers bond with their children, learn parenting skills, and prepare for parenting after being released.
