OREGON VETERANS EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Oregon Veterans Emergency Financial Assistance Program, funded through the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA), is a grant that provides emergency financial assistance to veterans and their immediate family members once per lifetime. Funding is limited, and varies per individual. Grantees must be able to show that they will be able to sustain the need after the financial assistance is exhausted.

Emergency financial assistance may include, but is not limited to, emergency or temporary housing and related housing expenses, such as expenses for utilities, insurance, rent, and house repairs; emergency medical or dental expenses; and/or emergency transportation. All payments are made directly to the vendor.

While applications are accepted at any time, if funding has been exhausted for the month the applicant must wait until the next month before reconsideration.

Eligibility: Veterans with an Honorable Discharge or a General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions and their immediate family members (spouse, un-remarried surviving spouse, child, or stepchild).

DOCUMENTS: DD214, written reason for request, and other documents in support of the request: past-due notices, bills, shut-off notices, etc. ODVA also requires a recommendation from CVSO or other Veterans Program manager who has worked with the applicant. If the Veteran has not worked with CVSO a VA provider or social worker will need to complete the endorsement portion of the grant form.

TRAVEL/LOCATION INFORMATION: Located on the Basement Level of the courthouse. Entrance is on the west side of the courthouse (City Hall side).
