AGING AND DISABILITY RESOURCE CONNECTION OF OREGON
OREGON PROJECT INDEPENDENCE (OPI)
Provides in-home care to qualifying older adults who live in their own homes. Services include housekeeping, personal care, laundry, shopping, and meal preparation. Also offers case management to help older adults make cost-effective and appropriate decisions regarding their care needs. Service hours per person vary depending on assessed need and local funding amounts. Hours may range from 5-20 hours a month. Some areas may have a waitlist for services.

Some examples of when Oregon Project Independence may be appropriate:
-When an individual is in need of personal and home care assistance due to injury or illness
-When an individual has been hospitalized and needs help while recovering in their home
Eligibility: -Age 60 and older and individuals of any age diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder
-Ages 19-59 individuals who have physical disabilities and live in one of these specific counties: Benton, Clatsop, Gilliam, Hood River, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Morrow, Multnomah, Polk, Sherman, Tillamook, Umatilla, Wasco, Washington, Wheeler, and Yamhill
-Do not receive Medicaid (financial or medical help) except for Food Stamps (SNAP) or assistance with Medicare premiums
Hours: Multnomah County: 24 hours per day / 7 days per week
All other counties: Varies by office, call to confirm hours.
