Eligibility: Families currently living in substandard housing who meet all of the following requirements:
-Meet income guidelines
-Can commit to 500 hours of sweat equity in construction
-Are United States citizens or permanent residents
-Have not have owned a home in the past 3 years
-Have the ability to pay a mortgage payment (steady income and decent credit history)

FEES: Households are responsible for closing fees. A 0%-interest mortgage (0% APR). Mortgage lengths vary between 20 to 30 years; Habitat adjusts the length of the mortgage so that the monthly mortgage payment (which includes taxes, insurance, HOA and Land Lease fees, if applicable) is no more than 30% of the homeowner’s gross monthly income at the time of sale.
