When funding is available LIHEAP helps households with electricity, natural gas, oil, propane, wood pellets or wood through a limited federal government funding program. Makes a one-time payment directly to the caller's utility account.

Project Care funds are provided by Central Lincoln PUD customers through bill payments and can be used for limited emergency assistance with PUD bills.

Eligibility: Low-income households with a past-due balance on a utility bill. Need must be deemed an emergency by SVDP, meaning that help is provided only when applicant's service is off, or applicant has no other option to avoid a shut-off. Must not have received financial assistance from SVDP in the past 12-14 months. Utility service must be in the name of the applicant. Existence of a pending or current disconnection does not guarantee assistance, and SVDP verifies all applicant account details directly with the utility company.
