Mentors provide assistance in helping clients to find housing; employment; applying for benefits such as TANF, OHP, etc.; guidance about legal aid programs; and transportation to recovery-oriented meetings and events. Mentors may have co-occurring disorders and an understanding of dual diagnosis, but are not trained to assist clients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
