Assistance is determined on a case-by-case basis if found eligible, is generally limited to the last $100-$200, is dependent upon available funding and may only be offered when shut-off of service is imminent. Appointments are only able to be scheduled out for the next 1-2 business days and are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Some applicants will not be able to get an appointment when they arrive and an appointment does not guarantee assistance. Same day appointments usually not available. Required documents include Photo ID, printed utility bill matching applicant's name and address, and shut-off notice. Social Security card not required. If your utility uses "paperless billing," print a copy of your bill before arriving to apply.
