ROSEBURG SELF SUFFICIENCY AND CHILD WELFARE OFFICE
THE LEARNING CHILD
The Learning Child program provides backpacks of school supplies once a year to school children in need. The Mercy Foundation pays for the supplies and the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) in Roseburg distributes them each fall for the new school year. The majority of the backpacks are distributed to children already receiving services through the ODHS. If there are any left over, staff may be able to provide them to the general public.
