HEAD START
Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children in a classroom setting and by providing educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services to children and families. Parental engagement is emphasized. Services for parents include goal setting and support, parenting classes and opportunities for parents to network.

Eligibility: Ages 3-5. The program is designed to serve families with the highest needs and each program works with the needs of their community to set priorities for enrollment. Families with incomes at or below 100% FPL are eligible. Children in foster care, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Security Income) are eligible regardless of income. Families with higher incomes and specific needs, may also be eligible.
