TRAUMA INTERVENTION PROGRAM NW
Trained and screened citizen volunteers provide emotional and practical support to people involved in traumatic events and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy: complete follow-up calls, information, and referral to other resources (burial services, probate information, hazardous clean up, and other services). The volunteers are called to crisis scenes by police officers, firefighters, and hospital emergency room personnel.
