Portland Public School's McKinney Vento resource website provides a referral form for the McKinney-Vento program and information about other social and health resources for houseless families.

Assistance through the McKinney-Vento program for qualifying households may include:
-Enrollment support
-Assistance with academic fees
-Feasible transportation to school of origin (school attended when student qualified for Title X)
-Free meals at school
-School clothes and supplies
-Referrals to health and dental care
-Referrals to rental and housing assistance

Eligibility: Students who are at risk of becoming homeless or who are currently homeless. The definition of homelessness includes students that:
-Lack a regular, fixed, and adequate nighttime residence (substandard housing)
-Are sharing housing due to economic struggles (doubled-up)
-Are living in a shelter, hotel, or motel
-Are living in a public place not designed for sleeping (cars, parks)
-Are unaccompanied (not living with a parent or guardian)
-Are awaiting foster care placement
-Were abandoned in a hospital
