MODEST MEANS PROGRAM
Matches moderate-income households with attorneys willing to work for reduced fees. Modest Means attorneys handle only family law, criminal defense, foreclosure, and landlord/tenant matters. There are a limited number of Modest Means attorneys, and they are not available in all areas of Oregon.

Eligibility: Eligibility depends on the type of legal matter, client income and assets, and availability of participating lawyers. The program is intended to help those who earn too much to qualify for legal aid, but who cannot afford traditional legal fees. Legal matter must be in Oregon and both parties must live in Oregon.

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Call for information or an application. Applications are also available online. Completed applications may be returned by email, mail, or FAX.
FEES: $35 maximum for the first 30-minute consultation, a reduced retainer (deposit against fees), and an hourly fee based on income ($60, $80, or $100/hour depending on income and assets)
