SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM
The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program helps low-income residents afford rental homes and apartments at normal market rates. Project-based Section 8 assistance is available at many locations throughout Multnomah County. These are apartments where the subsidy stays with the unit (it can not be taken by the resident to another location). Listings of apartment vacancies are updated approximately every 4-6 weeks on the website. Also accepts calls to report misuse of program.

Eligibility: -Low-income households
-Age 18 or older at the time of application or an emancipated minor under State Law
-Individuals who have a terminal illness and have been diagnosed by a medical provider with a life expectancy of 12 months or less may apply for Section 8 under priority status by calling the main Section 8 number
Hours: -Section 8 Housing Voucher Program applications: Not accepting appointments
-All other services: Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm
The Section 8 office is closed for client services on Fridays. However, paperwork can be dropped-off in a secure location in the lobby.
