AFTER SCHOOL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS
This organization provides school-based empowerment programs and assertiveness education for adolescent girls. Some of the programs include:
-Allies in Action which uses an interactive, peer-centered approach to change the climate of competition and hostility between girls
-Friendly PEERsuasion which approaches drug abuse prevention as a peer issue, using the positive influence of young people modeling healthy behavior
-Operation SMART, a program without walls, where resources from all across the community are focused on assisting girls
-Economic Literacy, guiding girls to build sound economic decisions and financial stability

Programs are designed to help girls feel more comfortable and capable in school by building self esteem, collaborative learning relationships, and other important developmental assets.

TRAVEL/LOCATION INFORMATION: On bus lines 35 and 36. Parking and main building entrance accessed from South Landing Drive. Turn off Macadam east, toward the river, on either S. Hamilton Ct or S. Boundary St and turn onto S. Landing Ct. One hour guest parking available in front of the building.
