EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE (ERA) PROGRAM
Provides financial assistance for the following housing-related costs:
-Current, future, and past due rent and utilities
-Rental deposits and application fees
-Temporary or emergency shelter
-Relocation costs
-Other rental housing-related expenses

Eligibility: -Must be a federally registered Native American or Alaska Native
-First priority for eligible Coquille Tribal households (nationwide), second to other Native American or Alaska Native households (only in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, and Lane Counties)
-Preference is given to households whose income does not exceed 50% Area Median Income (AMI), second to households with a member who has been unemployed for the past 90 days
-Eligibility is further determined by need, income, references from landlords and credit providers, criminal background check, and household composition

DOCUMENTS: -Copy of Driver’s License or photo ID
-Proof of enrollment in a federally recognized Indian Tribe for one or more household members,
-Income verification for each household member 18 or older
And if applicable:
-Documentation of each household member’s qualification for unemployment benefits
-Letter, email, or text from employer showing layoff, furlough status, or decrease in hours
-Other documents showing a reduction in household income
-Bills and/or receipts showing significant costs (hospital bills, medication costs, etc.)
-Copy of lease or rental agreement showing required rental payments or deposits
-Documents showing rent arrears and interest/penalties/late fees accrued
-Copy of current utility bill(s)
-Copy of a past due utility bill, rent notice, or eviction notice
-Documents showing unsafe or unhealthy living conditions
-Documents showing expenses related to COVID-19 for which payment is due
-Any other evidence of risk of housing instability
