OREGON PROJECT INDEPENDENCE (OPI)
Statewide program that helps older adults and people with dementia live at home as safely and independently as possible. Clackamas County Community Action's OPI program helps with:
-Personal care (dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.)
-Housekeeping
-Respite care (providing a break for caregivers)
-Shopping
-Transportation

Eligibility: Age 60 and older or adults younger than age 60 with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia. Individuals already receiving Medicaid should call for additional eligibility information.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am-6pm. Messages left after 5:30pm Thursday will be returned the following business day.

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Call for an assessment to determine eligibility based on need. There may be a waitlist.
FEES: Varies by service. The amount to be paid depends on an individual's income and medical costs.


There is no fee for in-home care services for households with income at or below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). If income is 125%-200% FPL, fee is based on a sliding scale.
