LILAC MEADOWS FAMILY SHELTER
LILAC MEADOWS FAMILY SHELTER
211info manages a waitlist to access family shelters in Multnomah County, in partnership with the Joint Office of Homeless Services (JOHS) and various shelter providers.

Shelter space is available for up to 4 months once accessed and may have the following amenities: private locked space to reside, meals, microwave, limited storage, showers, laundry facility and a housing caseworker to help overcome barriers and obtain long-term housing.

Please note this is not an immediate service and access to shelter is off of a waitlist and the time before accessing shelter could be a few weeks to months and is based on availability of shelter space.
Eligibility: Families (any combination of adults) with at least one minor child under the age of 18 OR pregnant individuals in their 3rd trimester (28 weeks+) who are homeless, meeting one of the following:
-Staying in a place not meant for human habitation (car, tent, park, garage, etc.)
-Unsafely doubled up/couch surfing
-In a motel temporarily
-Exiting an institution (shelter, transitional housing, jail, hospital) where you temporarily resided for 90 days or less and were homeless prior
-At imminent risk of losing housing (must have an official eviction notice)

Families who are currently on a lease and do not have an eviction notice are not eligible.
Youth under 18 with children or pregnant are not eligible for this program.

Pets allowed. The number of pets and type of pets allowed vary by shelter. If you are offered a shelter space, the caseworker working with you will coordinate the shelter that best suits the family and their pets upon shelter placement.
Hours: Waitlist intake: 7 days per week, 9am-5pm
Individual shelter hours vary but once shelter is accessed families can stay up to 4 months
