COMMUNITY CHILDCARE INITIATIVE
The Community Childcare Initiative (CCI) offers families and child care providers the opportunity to receive financial assistance for child care. Acceptance into the program is dependent on family eligibility and program funding.

Eligibility: Families must have an annual income up to 80% of the median income for Portland and have applied for Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) before seeking CCI assistance. Families on the ERDC reservation list are encouraged to apply.
Chosen child care provider must meet separate eligibility requirements to serve families in the program. Families must reside in the City of Portland to be eligible, but the chosen program does not have to be within city limits. A parent must be working and at least part time. For a two parent family, both parents need to be working.

Foster families without ERDC may be eligible.

Preference for financial resources will go to children ages 0-3, families with multiple children, and families with children who have special needs.

Families must have applied for Employment Related Day Care to determine CCI eligibility, Foster families without ERDC, living within the city limits of Portland may be eligible.

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Call or email for an application. There are four ways to turn in your completed application:
-Drop it off in person by appointment
-Print out application, fill it out, and mail it or fax it
-Email

If there are questions about anything on the application, call before you send it in. Incomplete applications will be returned.
FEES: None. Participating families pay no more than 10% of their gross annual income for child care costs.
DOCUMENTS: Completed application and 3 months' proof of income. If not receiving ERDC, include a copy of your denial letter saying you are either over-income or on the reservation list.

SITE HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, office is currently working remotely with in-person services by appointment only.
