UTILITY ASSISTANCE
Provides electric, gas, heating fuel, and water (LIHWA) assistance. Eligible families and individuals will be assisted with a portion of their heating or cooling costs. Assistance is not guaranteed at any time and is dependent on funding availability.

Offices are located in Bend, Redmond, Madras, Prineville, and La Pine.

Eligibility: Household income no higher than 60% of the State Median Income. Clients facing utility disconnection are eligible to apply for assistance any time of the year. A shutoff notice might not be required to receive assistance, depending on availability of funds.

Electric and gas customers who do not have the bill they are seeking assistance with in their name may be eligible for assistance in some situations. Bulk fuel (oil, propane, wood, pellets) customers can receive energy assistance without having an account for these utilities.

DOCUMENTS: Social Security numbers for all household members that have one and ID for anyone over age 18 (e.g., drivers license/state ID card, a letter with the person's name and address on it)
