SENIOR COMPANION AND FOSTER GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM OF EASTERN AND CENTRAL OREGON
Senior Companion Volunteers provide services to adults needing simple companionship or special assistance (including transportation, visitation, client advocacy, and light housekeeping). Volunteers receive a stipend of $4.00 per hour for each hour of service, mileage reimbursement for program-related activities, and training, orientation, and recognition. Foster Grandparent Volunteers assist designated school children with reading and math skills. Also, assist pre-school age youth with pre-reading skill development and socialization.

Eligibility: To volunteer:
-Age 55 and older and in good health
-Ability to pass State and FBI background checks
-Meet income guidelines:
1 person $2,430 monthly
2 person $3,287 monthly
3 person $4,413 monthly
4 person $5,000 monthly
Medical, dental, and prescription drug bills, and health insurance costs can be consider when determining eligibility. Actual amounts (x 50%) of medical, dental, and health insurance costs will be considered as an offset when determining entrance eligibility.
