EARLY HEAD START
Early Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children by providing educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services to enrolled children and families. Services for parents include home visits, parenting classes, parent support, and networking.

Service options include parent/child play groups, toddler play groups, part-day child care, and home-based.

Eligibility: Pregnant individuals and families with infants and children ages 0-3. Families with incomes at or below 100% FPL are eligible. Children in foster care, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), SNAP or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)) are eligible regardless of income. Families with higher incomes and specific needs, may also be eligible. Families with higher needs are prioritized.

DOCUMENTS: -Copy of child's birth certificate and/or proof of pregnancy
-Proof of last year's income (for both parents in the home), proof of current (this year's income for both parents in the home) and/or copy of a pay stub, a letter from your employer, or a letter from DHS or unemployment with verification of job training
-Other types of documents such as referrals and immunization, medical, or legal documentation may be needed
