RELIEF NURSERY
Relief nurseries provide high-risk families with young children who are most at risk of abuse and neglect with intensive support through individualized case management. They provide parenting education, home visits, and group activities. Children participate in therapeutic classrooms with low adult-child ratios and families receive home visits that promote healthy parenting and child development.

Eligibility: Young children who have experienced trauma and/or are at risk for abuse and neglect; parents who have multiple risk factors and are struggling to nurture and care for their children.

High-risk families typically experience several of the following factors: poverty, high stress, depression, history of mental illness, lack of reliable transportation, single parenthood, criminal history, adult survivors of child abuse, history with drugs and alcohol, unemployment, low self-esteem, limited education, anger issues, homelessness, or social isolation.
