H1N1

The Oregon Public Health Flu Hotline (1-800-978-3040) is operated by 211info's expert call center staff who are waiting to speak with callers about symptoms, prevention advice, concerns about flu exposure, taking care of others and when to see a doctor. Call Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm; weekends and holidays 9am-12pm.

For additional information, visit www.flu.oregon.gov.

Economic Hardship

Struggling with house payments? Concerned about foreclosure? No one should have to choose between buying necessities and making a house payment. Faced with high unemployment and steep mortgages, many borrowers simply give up or put their trust in companies that ultimately scam them out of their homes. 211info can refer callers to a HUD-certified counseling program and other support services.
We're here to help and it's free: Call 211 or 1-800-SAFENET (723-3638)

Winter

During the Northwest's 2008 winter severe weather, 2-1-1 worked with the Bureau of Housing and Community Development (BHCD) for the City of Portland to provide telephone support to Portland residents, homeless individuals and community partners seeking help in finding winter and/or severe weather emergency warming centers.

In addition, BHCD contracts with 211info to disseminate announcements to a list of community shelter, housing and service providers with information regarding availability, location and hours of Severe Weather Emergency Warming Centers within an hour of a declaration of severe weather.

Other

211info is also a source of emergency information during times of flooding, heat waves, and other emergencies.
